Sumin Hwang is an artist and arts worker using the logics of pre-colonial Korean spiritual formations to conduct inter-generational/spiritual/species visual research. She is currently based in Brooklyn, NY (unceded territory of the Lenape Nation); she is originally from San Diego, CA (unceded territory of the Kumeyaay Nation) and the Korean Peninsula.

The resulting publication is in many ways unresolved, blurred, unfocused, unfinished, but it reminds her (and maybe others) that we do not have to be algorithmically or categorically useful in service of systems that do not care about us.
